DIY: Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Hey, I'm back! It's been a while since my last update here. I've been busy with lots of things. You know it's holiday season. But before this year ends, i would like to share my DIY: WYB favors for my lovely girls, my bridesmaids. This is a delayed post since this was supposed to be posted many weeks ago. Pardon!

Asking my girl friends to be my bridesmaid is an easy thing to do. But i thought of something which can somewhat makes them feel special :) Maybe just a simple favor would make them say "Yes" without any hesitation..*grin.

Here's my simple WYB idea:

First: I have bought  keychains with their initials on it. I got six of it for my 6 bridesmaid-to be's.

Second: I bought mini boxes. Since they come in 3's, i didn't get to choose colors because there are already multiple color boxes in a pack. Which goes fine with me.

Here are the complete stuffs for my DIY:
Keychains, mini boxes, crepe paper, scissor, stapler, ribbon, WYB notes

I grabbed some wyb message at the internet. Combined it into a simple poem. Have it printed. And here's what i've come up.

I wrapped the keychain with a crepe paper then wrapped it around the wyb printed note...

So here's the final outcome... tadaaaannnnnn....

Affordable, Simple and Cute.. 

Very easy thing to do...

*** I already have distributed these favors  to my girl friends and they already said "Yes!". And i guess they liked it :)

DIY: Save The Date

I have made several STD's but only few have made it to my final liking. I can't be satisfied with most of what i have already done so i keep on editing, editing and editing. Until i have to start again from scratch. I have learned that doing DIY stuffs really was a trial and error thing. And so far, I got satisfied with my work now. Will post again if ever i come up with different design. I admit i am not into so much creativity. Well, only limited i guess :)

I don't like my first set of monogram, the ones i have previously done. It's so simple and plain. Read as Boring. So i thought of making another sets. This time, it's a little swirly and crafty. Read as Simply cute. I love it.

DIY: Water Bottle Label

Our wedding church is a regular venue without aircondition. Though, we expect that December will be a bit cold, i still consider that our wedding day may be an ordinary sunny day, so i'm thinking of having some refreshment at the ceremony- free bottled Water! With this in mind, i just created a personalized water bottle label. As you know i love DIY stuffs, i wish to discover the creative side of me (sana nga meron..hehe) and to make sure that my wedding will be more special because of my "labor of love" (relating to DIY)

Using a template i designed these on my own. With different styles and background. Feel free to comment for your personal choice. I'm having a hard time choosing my own. Love them all. (syempre love your own..hehe)

Our Wedding Caricature

I've been looking for a professional caricature artist to do our wedding caricature. I've found Jo Acierto, recommended by most co-w@wies. He makes digital caricature. I've checked his portfolio and liked his works. Pretty cool and really nice.

But as i do some canvassing, i passed by this small booth of paintings, Rotech  at Greenbelt 1. We were there every Sunday to hear mass. Then i inquired regarding caricatures. And the lady attendant told me they do make caricatures. Right away, i hand her over our pictures as a canvass. Lead time is 3 days. Got mine on our next visit to Greenbelt chapel. Got a free upgrade to 12x18 from 8x10 (this am not sure, i forgot the original size the attendant had told me)

 So here it is.. Tadaaannnn.... Our Wedding Caricature!

I didn't like it at first. You may won't notice it but i just edited the eyes. Now it looks just fine.

Having a wedding caricature has many use especially for wedding preps. You can use it for invitations, save the date, rsvp, will you be cards, place cards, table numbers, wedding favor labels, thank you cards etc.

Here's one of my DIY project using the caricature. I plan to use it as our invitation cover.

I made it using Photoshop. From plain white background, I've used our wedding church as the background. I've also changed the red car into a royal carriage. Lastly, I've put our names and wedding date on top. Voila!

Wedding Expo 19th Edition Experience

I have attended the previous bridal fair event at SMX last Sept 10 and 11, 2011.

What's more exciting is that i got to met my fellow 2012 bride to be's on the said event. We actually first met online, in femalenetwork's forum called Girltalk. We shared ideas, tips and advices regarding wedding preps. We instantly became virtual sissies and friends. I'm just so glad to have met them personally.

I have also booked Wingdingz for our invitation.

Overall, it's another fun wedding expo experience and it was so nice meeting my fellow 2012 b2b and g2b. Nice meeting you sissies and bro's. :)

Inspiration 101: Short Bridesmaid Dresses

I'm still on the lookout for bridesmaid dresses for my girlfriends. Basically, i've found short bridesmaid dresses more sophisticated and simple. One reason i suppose, my bridesmaid would wear short dresses is that they can use it again at anytime and anywhere they want to. But then again, i haven't come up with the final decision.. yet!

Inspiration: Pink Bridal Shoes

What gets me more excited with the wedding preps? It is choosing fashion my way. Such as choosing my own wedding gown, accessories, styles, and even bridal shoes. And speaking of a bridal shoes, i don't wanna go with the traditional white ones i want a platform pump( preferably peep toe) in PINK. I'm a sucker for high heels and wedges :) All because I'm petite that's why i love to wear something that will boost me some height especially when i'm with hubby. If only i could wear 10" stilleto on my wedding day (to make me look really tall) i would..haha Hmm..why not? lol
